Julia grew up in Palo Cedro, CA, on the border of the Sierra Nevada Conservancy Region. She went to UC Santa Barbara and graduated with a BS in Environmental Studies. After graduating, she moved back to Northern California, first living in Sacramento and then moving up to Nevada City to be closer to the mountains.
As a Policy Analyst at the SNC, she is interested on developing new ways of communicating the science behind forest and watershed health to partners and policy makers to ensure that the forests in the Sierra Nevada Region continue to provide important resource and recreational benefits to the people of California.
In her spare time, Julia enjoys hiking, skiing, kayaking, rafting, and riding her dirt bike with her husband and friends through the beautiful forests of the Sierra.
