Elissa Brown is the SNC’s Partnership and Community Support Coordinator. Originally trained as a lawyer, Elissa moved into program development and grant writing 30 years ago. She worked for the City of Oakland in the areas of community and economic development before moving to a small town in the Sierra Nevada in 2000. Since then she has worked as a grant writer and program developer for local government, tribes, and nonprofit organizations. Elissa was hired by the SNC in 2014 to provide information and assistance about funding, capacity-building, and partnership development to communities throughout the Region. She loves to help people get things done and has even written a book, How to Get Things Done in a Small Town, which is available online for free download.
