Kristy works as the Area Representative for SNC’s North Sierra region which includes Modoc, Shasta, and Lassen Counties. She grew up in Durham, a rural town in northern California, raising sheep on a small farm that contributed to her appreciation for open spaces and sense of connection with the land. Her family camped and fished in the Sierra not far from where she lives today.
Kristy attended California State University, Chico, and received a BS Degree in Parks and Natural Resources Management. After graduating, she headed for the mountains of Montana, working in Glacier National Park, Bozeman and Missoula. Eventually, she migrated back to the Sierra and settled in the Norman Rockwell-esque town of Quincy, nestled in the middle of the Upper Feather River Watershed. Prior to working for the SNC, Kristy worked for a number of watershed-related organizations as a grant writer, project manager, and education coordinator. An avid gardener and birder, she also enjoys fly fishing and camping with her family.
Kristy enjoys working with SNC partners to develop projects and make earnest steps towards improving ecosystem health while benefiting mountain communities.
