Chris joined the Sierra Nevada Conservancy in January 2008 as a member of the Mt. Lassen Area Team. Headquartered in the Auburn office, Chris works as an Area Representative for El Dorado, Placer, Nevada, and Yuba counties.
Born and raised in Southern California, Chris spent many years backpacking, skiing, and photographing the Sierra Nevada. Following an early career as a cost estimator in the heavy construction industry, Chris completed a BS Degree in Economics at San Jose State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Environmental Policy from the University of Maryland School of Public Policy in 2001. Subsequent work in the Washington, D.C., area included environmental consulting on sustainable development and work in higher education policy. Immediately prior to joining the SNC, Chris worked in grants process management as a Management Analyst for a consulting firm on a contract with the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Chris still enjoys backpacking and skiing, and hikes the local area as much as possible. He also has taken up kayaking since moving to Auburn, and still endeavors to photograph it all.
