Marji is an eighth generation Californian who grew up in Sacramento and enjoyed family day hikes in the Sierra. She graduated from CSU, Sacramento, with BS Degrees in Economics and German, and spent several years assessing the environmental impacts of state projects. When she heard about the new Sierra Nevada Conservancy and its mission in 2005, she jumped at the chance to be part of it and volunteered to help at the SNC’s first series of public meetings. She’s been with the SNC ever since, and strongly appreciates the friendliness and dedication of SNC staff.
Marji has worn many hats at the SNC, from grants administration to funding and resource development, and even managed the Great Sierra River Cleanup for a few years. These days, she oversees and coordinates a variety of projects, such as the development of our 2016-19 Strategic Action Plan.
Marji loves reading, wilderness canoeing, hiking, and long-distance motorcycle trips with her husband. Being outdoors, especially in the beautiful Sierra Nevada, recharges her batteries.
