Mt. Lassen Area Representative
Auburn , CA 95603
Lynn grew up in Oakland and camped every year at Calaveras Big Trees State Park where she knew every slide, tunnel, and waterfall on a section of the Stanislaus River. She started at Feather River College in the northern Sierra and fell in love with the high mountain meadows, clear mountain air, snowy landscapes, and the canyons of the upper Feather River watersheds. She got her BS Degree in Biology and Education from UC Santa Cruz and went on to work for many years for different California state parks and as a backcountry ranger for Sequoia National Park, while also teaching science in local schools all over California.
Wanting to return to the Sierra, Lynn moved to the Grass Valley/Nevada City area to work and teach, while becoming involved with the local land trust and nonprofits that were working on water quality and restoration projects. These experiences led to her present position as an Area Representative for the SNC’s Mt Lassen Team. She works with partners from Sierra, Butte, Tehama, and Plumas counties to address Sierra issues and run projects in the Subregion.
When at home, Lynn loves to paint Sierra landscapes, garden, go birding, ramble with the dogs, kayak, hike, and cross-country ski.
